Travels

I left work on Wed Jan 28th and spent Thursday through Saturday packing things up. In the midst of packing on the 30th of Jan (Friday afternoon), I got a call from my mom saying that my dad's surgery had been postponed at least 2 weeks. Since it was Friday afternoon and my apartment was completely upside down, I wasn't in a position to try and change my plane ticket until Monday while driving through the hills of West Virginia and getting spotty cell service. Hotwire.com was noooo help whatsoever after getting nowhere with Delta... so I decided to take the trip anyway (my unpaid leave of absence from work had already gone through) and spend time with the fam and then not come back for the surgery.
